Bramble

The Bramble is a modern classic created by Dick Bradsell at Fred's Club in London in 1984, made with London dry gin, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, and crème de mûre, served over crushed ice in a rocks glass. The cassis is poured last so it bleeds down through the ice and creates the drink's signature gradient. Bradsell wanted something distinctly British, with blackberry as the central fruit.

Pro tip

Drizzle the crème de mûre last, slowly, so it bleeds through the crushed ice; pour it in with the spirits and you lose the gradient.
