Sidecar

The Sidecar is a shaken cocktail made with Cognac, orange liqueur, and fresh lemon juice, served in a chilled coupe. The classic ratio is two parts Cognac to one part each of liqueur and lemon. A sugar rim is traditional.

Pro tip

The original Sidecar was equal parts. Modern bartenders shifted to 2:1:1 because the equal-parts version tastes too tart and too sweet at the same time. Use the modern spec.
