Method

  1. Combine gin, Campari, and sweet vermouth in a mixing glass.
  2. Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir for 20 to 30 seconds.
  3. Strain into a rocks glass over one large ice cube.
  4. Express the orange peel oils over the glass and drop the peel in.

The Negroni's strength is its balance. Cheap vermouth ruins it faster than cheap gin. Spend on the vermouth.
