Espresso Martini
The Espresso Martini is a shaken vodka cocktail made with fresh espresso, coffee liqueur, and rich demerara syrup, served up in a chilled coupe with a creamy foam cap and three coffee beans. It was invented by Dick Bradsell at Fred's Club in London in the 1980s after a customer asked for something to wake her up and mess her up. The foam cap comes from emulsifying the crema with cold air during a hard shake.
Ingredients
- 1.5 oz vodka
- 1 oz fresh hot espresso (single shot, freshly pulled)
- 0.75 oz coffee liqueur (Mr Black or Kahlúa)
- 0.5 oz rich demerara syrup
